marble

Marble is a crystalline calcitic stone which is capable of taking a polish. Marble results from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks such as limestone or dolomite. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities which were originally present as grains or layers in the limestone.

granite

Granite is an igneous rock from inter-locking crystals of quartz, feldspar, mica and silica. Granite, when polished, becomes scratch resistant and stain resistant. Because it is has natural bacteria resistance properties granite is an excellent choice for countertops.

quartzite & limestone

Quartzite is a hard rock known as metamorphic, as it was originally sandstone, but converted into quartzite over time through heating and pressure. Quartzite is used as railway ballast, and also decoratively to cover walls & stair steps and as roofing tiles or flooring. Limestone is used in architecture as wall covering and as building blocks for large structures.
